On April 3 at Fair Park in Dallas, TX, the 60-foot catamaran Plastiki was lifted from a trailer into the park's Esplanade Fountain as part of the Hunt Institute's Engineering & Humanity Week starting April 6. The boat arrived April 2 at Fair Park in Dallas after being hauled for 12 days from San Francisco Bay to Fair Park. The Plastiki is made with 12,500 reclaimed plastic bottles and other biodegradable products. The boat made a four-month journey across the Pacific Ocean in 2010.
